Department Video Camera
*Note: it
requires mini-DVDs to record, which should be able to be played on any DVD
player, computer, etc.
To check out the video camera and tripod:
- Make sure
you have reserved it on the calendar in the binder in the main office (on
top of the filing cabinets behind the mailboxes) for the day(s) and
time(s) that you will need it ahead of time. Robin is a good person to ask for help
with this. Be sure to reserve/sign it out under “video camera” not
“digital camera” as the “digital camera” refers to a still photo camera.
- Ask an
office staff member for the key to the filing cabinet where the video
camera is stored when you are picking it up.
- Make sure
you sign out the video camera on the table on the sheets behind the
calendar in the binder in the main office.
- Return the
video camera when you are finished using it.
- Remember
to sign it back in when you return it to the main office on the sheets
behind the calendar in the binder in the main office.
To record:
- Plug in the
video camera and turn on the power (green button)
- Open the
DVD compartment on the right side of the camera and insert the mini-DVD (the side with writing faces out). Close the door.
- Open the door on the left side of the camera. It should
say STBY in green on the opened screen indicating the camera is in standby
mode
- Push any
of the REC buttons to record. You will know it’s recording when it says
REC on the screen in red.
- To record
for approximately 1 hour (or more than 30 minutes) make sure LP (“long”
play) is displayed on the screen (it should be set up this way, as long as
no one changes it – there is a menu you can access to change this setting
between “long” and “standard” SP play)
After each session the DVDs will need to be finalized in order to be
viewed on any other DVD player or computer. Note that this does not have to be done immediately after recording. To finalize DVDs:
- Press
FINALIZE on the inside of the DVD recorder next to the screen
- Use the
round navigation button and push it down 2 times to highlight EXECUTE
- Push the
navigation button to the right to READY
- Push the
navigation button down to YES
- Push the
navigation button in
- Once the
disc has been finalized, push FINALIZE again to exit the finalization
process
- Turn the
power off by pushing the same button that you pushed to turn it on.
