SPSS version 6.14 is installed on bama.ua.edu, the University of Alabama's central Unix machine. It can be used by any faculty, staff member, or student who has an account on bama. However, it appears that SPSS, Inc. may no longer update its Unix version. (Although 6.14, a Y2K-compliant version, was released in December 1999.) The computer center is currently verifying this information. Therefore, User Service recommends that most people move to the PC version of SPSS in order to take advantage of the latest developments. SPSS will continue to be available on bama.
