Sigma Theta Tau has been organized to recognize superior scholarship
and outstanding leadership qualities and to encourage members toward
excellence in scholarship and leadership activities. As the honor
society of nursing, its mission is to increase the scientific base
of nursing and thereby improve the health of the public.
In keeping with Sigma Theta Tau's mission, Epsilon Omega Chapter
seeks recommendations from members for identification of nursing
leaders in the community who have demonstrated scholastic achievement,
leadership, creativity, support of professional nursing standards,
and commitment to scholarly nursing.
The Criteria for membership for community leaders are:
- Nurse with minimum of five- (5) year's experience.
- Minimum of baccalaureate degree, (nursing degree desirable,
but not mandatory).
- Marked achievement in one or more of the following: education,
practice, research, publication, and commitment to scholarship.
- Three letters of endorsement from members of Sigma Theta Tau
in leadership positions.
Your recommendations will be reviewed and candidates contacted
to complete the membership application process that includes #4 above.
Complete the following section and return
by January 15th.
