Requirements for Entry into Tri-Beta
There are two types of membership into Beta Beta Beta National
Biological Honor Society. Membership is by invitation only to qualified individuals.
A regular member meets all of the requirements of entry. All others who are in some way
ineligible for regular membership may apply for an associate membership. An associate
member may become a regular member at the time of clearing any
descrepancies that were initially present.
Requirements for regular membership:
- Be an undergraduate majoring in the biological sciences at an institution where a chapter of Beta Beta Beta is located.
- Shall have completed at least one term of the second year of a four-year curriculum or its equivalent.
- Shall have completed at least three term courses in biological science, of which at least one is not an introductory course, with an average grade of B or its equivalent in those biology courses.
- Shall be in good academic standing.
