Limited Number of Reserved Spaces Available
Transportation Services will offer a limited number of South ten Hoor reserved permits for sale or exchange while supplies last. Commuter West or Commuter Northeast permits will not be available for sale or exchange this semester.
The schedule for purchasing or exchanging your current commuter permit for a South ten Hoor ($350.00) reserved permit is as follows:

October 6th – Graduate Students/Seniors Only

October 7th – Juniors Only

October 8th – Sophomores Only

October 9th – Freshmen Only
If you are exchanging your current commuter permit for a South ten Hoor reserved permit, please remember to bring your permit with you to the Transportation Services Office. Our office hours are 7:45am to 4:30pm.
Changes to Non-Reserved Parking Deck Access
Effective 8/16/08, deck access on all non-reserved decks will be card swipe or pay upon ENTRY. If you have permitted deck access, simply swipe your Action Card through the “A” reader slot upon ENTRY. If you do not have permitted free access, you may pay on ENTRY by swiping your Action Card in the “B” slot which will deduct $3.00 from your Bama Cash OR pay with three one dollar bills, twelve quarters or a pre purchased token from one of the token machines located in the decks or from the Transportation Services Office. A valid University of Alabama parking permit must be displayed from your rear view mirror or a paid receipt must be visible on the driver’s side of your dashboard when parked in non reserved decks.
Motorcycles and Motorized Scooters
UA Motorcycle/Scooter Policy Effective August 16th, 2008
Based on recommendations from the UA Parking and Traffic committee, all motorcycles and motorized scooters are now required to register with Transportation Services at 103 Student Services Center. The cost of the permit is $50 and will be valid for one year from August 16, 2008 through August 15 th of the following year. For motorcycle/scooter owners who have already registered a vehicle with the University, there is no charge to register the motorcycle/scooter, but you must register your motorcycle tag number with Transportation Services.
Motorcycle/scooter owners must abide by all local and state laws governing operation as well as The University of Alabama Parking and Traffic Rules and Regulations. In addition:
Motorcycles and motorized scooters are to be parked in designated motorcycle/motorized scooter parking areas only. These areas will be clearly marked. Boundaries in the motorcycle areas are designated by markings on the parking surface.

All motorcycles and motorized scooters are required to park in the designated areas corresponding to the individual's University permit.

Motorcycles and motorized scooters are prohibited from using vehicle parking spaces. Motorcycle and motorized scooter owners found occupying vehicle spaces are subject to a $25 citation.

Motorcycles and motorized scooters are prohibited from operating or parking on University sidewalks and other pedestrian areas. Violators are subject to a $50 citation.

Motorcycles and motorized scooters that are parked on sidewalks or other pedestrian areas and impede the flow of pedestrian traffic or create a safety hazard will be towed and impounded at the owner's expense.

Registration Information
STUDENTS - Register for your parking permit when you register for classes. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR PRIORITY for parking permit choices if you do not register online during your time period for class registration. The cost of permits for the 2008-2009 are the following:
Perimeter: $100 Commuter:$145 Residential: $175 Reserve: $350

FACULTY/STAFF - A green faculty/staff permit will automatically be issued to permanent full time faculty/staff and the charge of $145 will be payroll deducted in 5 equal monthly payments beginning in August, unless you go online and select no permit, another permit type or another payment option. Permits will be mailed in early August to your permanent address. If you do not receive a permit by August 15th please call Transportation Services at 348-5471.
Any faculty/staff that parked in a reserve zone in 2007/2008 may register for the same reserve zone for 2008/2009 when the online registration begins. The Cost of the Reserve permit is $350 dollars with the exception of Rose Administration which will be $370.
Anyone requesting to be placed on the wait list for a reserve zone must register in person at the Transportation Services Office at 103 Student Services Center beginning April 14th. Any openings in the Rose Administration lot will be filled from the South Rose lot in the order the names were drawn in 2007/2008. No phone calls or emails will be accepted to place a name on the wait list.

Log into myBama. Click on the employee tab and under the Auxiliary Services box you will find the link for registering.
Supervisors should assist employees without computer access with this process or the employee may come to the parking services office located at 103 Student Services Center for assistance.
