Mission Statement:

We, Westminster Fellowship, a welcoming inclusive community of Christ followers strive to strengthen our faith in God and our relationships with others.  Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we will embody Christ's love to the World through our words and actions.

A Brief History:

The Westminster Fellowship is the Presbyterian campus ministry group at the University of Alabama. Our home is the Winter-Vallery Student Center which is located adjacent to University Presbyterian Church. While we are not directly the University Presbyterian Church's ministry, we do receive amazing support from the church and, as an organization, we would not be able to survive without them. We also receive incredible support from each Presbyterian (PCUSA) church in the Tuscaloosa area. These churches include Bethel, Brown Memorial, Covenant, First, and University Presbyterian.

Presbyterian campus ministry at the University of Alabama was very strong back in the 1950's when the group (along with other Presbyterian campus ministries across the country) was known as the Westminster Fellowship. Campus ministry here, and across the country, declined in the 70's and 80's. In the 1990's, a few students took on the responsibility of rebuilding Presbyterian campus ministry at UA. They helped to increase numbers in the group and eventually helped to build the Winter-Vallery Student Center which houses our group today. In 2004, the Student Leadership Team decided to recognize our past by renaming the group the Westminster Fellowship.
