Edited and managed entirely by graduate students, the Black Warrior Review is a nationally respected literary magazine that publishes the best in contemporary fiction, poetry, and essays from both established and emerging writers. Launched in 1974, the BWR has published work from Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award winners, and stories and poems that have appeared in BWR have been reprinted in the Puschart Prize, Best American Short Stories and Poems, and New Stories from the South anthologies. Each issue features a chapbook, a selection of poetry, from a nationally known poet. MFA students may join the staff as assistant editors upon their arrival in Tuscaloosa. Please visit the magazine's website for more information and a look at the current issue. |
